“The Shotokan Karate International of India” was founded in 2010. President -Shihan Surendra Ugale,7Dan Black Belt and General Secretary -Sensei Yogesh Chavhan,5 Dan Black Belt are two of the original founders of this non-profit organization.
SKI India is approved by Karate Association of India which is recognized by the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs, Government of India and Member of World Karate Federation (WKF), Asian Karate Federation (AKF), Commonwealth Karate Federation (CKF) and South Asian Karate Do Federation. WKF is recognized by International Olympic Committee ( IOC).
Today SKI India is one of the rapidly growing Karate organization in India promoting Shotokan style, widely spreading its influence over karatekas by continuously adding new clubs, States and Countries to its membership.
It is one of the unique organization, where more than 10,000 karatekas practice regularly under the supervision of qualified, devoted and dedicated Masters and coaches of the Organization.

Shihan Surendra Ugale, the president of this esteemed organization is an eminent educationalist, actively contributing his talent in many reputed educational institutions being as a member in management or on advisory boards.
Academically highly qualified, Shihan persuade his masters degree in Economics as well as in Physical Education and Sports with additional certified deploma in Yoga & Naturopathy, Information Technology, Sports management etc.
“World Karate Federation” honoured him 5 Dan Black Belt for 37 years of his dedication and devotion for the development of Karate in India. He is one of the few Go dan black belt in the world who are associated with SKIF Japan, the largest Karate organization in the world. His experience and knowledge inspires the upcoming karatekas of SKII India.

I have been practicing karate since 30 years and giving trainings to the students from last 24 years all over the India. I had trained under the guidance of Sensei Anil Garodia and Sensei Anand Ratna who represents the JKA- Shotokan in India. I am the first trainer in the Nagpur division who trained under their guidance. I am feeling so proud about my students, I have been teaching karate in Gondwana Sainiki Vidyalaya, in Gadchiroli since 2008.Under my guidance so many students played National and some of them played for India too. i liked the students who practice karate sincerely. I took training under the many Japanese Instructor and Masters of JKA-Shotokan. My determination to spread karate well in India and to take students from rural areas forward to play for India.
